Weeds
Pastures:
Pastures are treated with a special blend of herbicides to control broadleaf and noxious weeds, but maintain the desired grasses. Animals may be required to be off the pasture for 24 hours after the application.
Bareground:
Pre-emergence: This application is used in sensitive areas where vegetation and trees are close enough to be effected by longterm (sterilant) herbicide. This is applied in either late-Fall or early-Spring prior to weed germination. The application controls many weeds, but not all. Spot treatment applications of a non-selective herbicide are normally needed.
Sterilant: This application is applied as a pre-emergence in areas where trees and vegitation will not be affected. The applicaiton obtains a wider control of vegetation and has a longer residual than the regular pre-emergence application. However, this application does not control all vegetation and some breakthroughs may occur.
Non-selective: This application is used for post-emergence weed control where bare ground is desired.
